Here’s a little rule humans love to forget: What you think about others only affects… drumroll, please… YOU. When you think not-so-nice thoughts about someone else. Who is thinking these thoughts? YOU. Who do your thoughts affect? YOU So, who will end up with a headache, a bad mood and a membership in the misery club? Ding ding, YOU! 3 out of 3. Nailed it, well done! Glad we had this little heart-to-heart. P.S. And no, it doesn’t matter how annoying, wrong, or facepalm-inducing the person is. What you think about others still only affects you!
Your mood is like a radio station. And the thoughts you receive match the station you’re on. If you’re feeling down, “Poor Me FM” will serve you its greatest hits. They play classics like “Why Does This Keep Happening to Me? 🎸” and “Why Can’t I Do Anything Right?” These tunes have been at the top of the charts for ages! No wonder! Some people replay them their entire lives. Don’t expect to find positivity on “Life sucks 66.2 FM.” They don’t have uplifting thoughts on their playlists! You have to switch to a more uplifting station to think better thoughts. What station have you been tuning into today? Rock on! Life P.S. I prefer “Life Rocks FM” myself. They always play bangers. I should know, I am the DJ! 🎧
Welcome to the Cosmic Complaint Department! Every grumble, every frustrated “this shouldn’t have happened” lands on my desk here. As you can see from this pile of letters, humans have much to complain about. That’s nothing, though; you should see this place on Monday mornings. Oh, look. I got a complaint from you Ticket #743,291,842 Since you’re already here, why don’t we resolve this together? Look, I get why humans complain. Venting makes you feel better when life feels unfair. It draws sympathies, garners attention, and makes a fantastic conversation starter. Also, it used to work wonders with your mom. But while it might feel good, it doesn’t work. In fact, complaining has the opposite effect; You always get more of what you complain about …this is why this blasted pile of tickets keeps growing When I´d rather be wrapping up the shiny new galaxy I’ve been crafting. And here comes yet another ticket! And it is from….oh wow…ME. Oh boy, this is awkward. See what I mean?
Don´t leave your house like this! Whoa, hold on a minute! please tell me you are not leaving the house dressed like this I am not talking about the clothes on your body. You are looking as sharp as always. I am talking about the mood you are wearing Your emotions are the clothes of your soul Don’t just walk into the world emotionally undressed and let the world decide how you are going to feel Don’t let circumstances or people determine what mood you will wear today. Today, you’ve been gifted another day of life. Make sure you dress for the occasion. How about gratitude and joy? They pair well together and suit you perfectly. P.S. Rockin’ your outfit today, by the way —inside and out!
Yeah, you heard that right. Be choosy, be picky, You are picky with your clothes, your food, your friends You are so picky that it takes you 30 minutes to decide what movie to watch (yeah, I saw that) Why not do the same for your thoughts and feelings? You wouldn’t eat from a dumpster (I trust) You would not wear a ripped and food-stained shirt (Unless it’s sweatpants Sunday, of course) So why do you put up with low-quality thoughts? Why tolerate second-rate thoughts that add nothing to your life? Be pickier with your thoughts As picky as you are with everything else. Love, Head of Quality Control P.S. Be a snob when it comes to your thoughts…and about pizza. Life’s too short for a bad version of either.
You are the only thinker in your world. What do you think about others, You are thinking about yourself. What you wish for others, You are wishing upon yourself. What do you think about others only affects you And what others think of you only affects them. That is why the secret of the universe is to mind your own business P.S. And now you know why I did not create humans with thought bubbles above their heads. It was a very short-lived experiment…
The dog chews on his bone. You chew on your problem The dog walks in the woods, chasing butterflies. You are merely taking your problems for a walk. The dog finds happiness in whatever is in front of him. What’s in front of you is in the way of your happiness. You are in the shower, lost in thought. And the dog? He escaped as soon as he heard “bath time.” You can learn a lot from these little pooches. May you be as happy as a dog! woof!, Life P.S. Except for the “sniffing strangers” butt”-part.
So, I have been binge-watching human behaviour (think of it like my version of Netflix) And here’s something I’ve noticed. Now, don’t get me wrong, this comes from a place of love But…you are just reacting to life. When “bad” things happen, you feel bad When “good” things happen, you feel good But that was not the point of your life at all. You are not here to merely react to what is happening to you You came here to set your own mood Why do you use a grumpy boss or spilt coffee as an excuse to shop, shining the love and joy that you are? P.S. Sorry, it’s time to get back to my binge-session. There’s a first date brewing. Such fun!
Hello there, it’s your old pal, Life! The world echoes what you whisper to yourself. People around you mirror your inner dialogue. Repeating out loud what you’ve first told yourself in your head. So, what are you whispering in your own ear? How about treating yourself with a little more kindness, a little more compassion? And watch, just observe how the world starts to echo that love back to you. With Love, Life P.S. OK, I’ll start: I’m proud of you. You are doing so well.
Hola, amigo! What have you been saying to yourself recently? You’re cautious with your money. You wouldn’t spend it recklessly But what if you were just as careful with your words? Don’t aimlessly spend your words. Think of every word you say as an investment. Talk about the things that inspire and uplift you. Speak about what you love and appreciate. Make every word you say an investment in your happiness. What are you investing in? Your invisible Budget Buddy, P.S. Remember to budget lots of kind words for yourself. That investment always pays off.
